When Disney On Ice skates into your hometown, discover a whole new world as you’re swept up in Aladdin’s princely parade.  Join the adventures of Anna and Elsa where magic awaits them at every turn.  Play at a larger-than-life carnival with the Toy Story gang and their new friend, Forky.  Set off on a safari to the Pride Lands with Simba and his friends.  Explore the London skyline with Mary Poppins, Jack and the lamp lighters.

Join on the first Thursday of the month for a special craft your little one can do with a Papillion Police Officer. Crafts will take place in the Youth Area. This month's craft project: Rainbow Tambourines

You'll be putting together multiple puzzles in a 2ish hour time frame. The fastest team (cumulative time) will win the top prize. Each team will be a team of up to 4 people. Every team will be doing the SAME puzzles, but how fast is up to you and how well you work together. Some people work better in a small group, and others work better in a big group. We are limiting it to no more than 4 per group and no less than 2 for fairness. Members: $20 per person / NonMembers: $25, Teams of 4: $80 member / $100 non-members

Come create your own comedy stories with Shelly Nosbisch from the Nebraska Writers Collective! Participants will use a prompted writing activity to create their own project and share it with the others, if they want. This is a free program for ages 8-12. Registration is required.

Bring your imagination to life with stories and scrapbooks! In this creative workshop, participants will use a instant camera to take pictures (and/or bring their own pictures!) and turn them into colorful scrapbook pages using paper, stickers, letters, and more. It’s the perfect mix of storytelling and hands-on art—no writing or crafting experience needed!

Enjoy a 90-minute princess experience in your very own city! Our event is a family-friendly princess meet & greet, giving every child opportunity for photos, hugs, and personal interactions with each fairytale friend in attendance. In addition to meeting the princesses, guests will enjoy 10 engaging group activities, including songs, dances, games, and magical moments that make the day memorable!

Join experienced knitting teacher Roxanne Wheeler as she teaches this class for beginning knitting. Participants will learn foundational knitting skills as we knit wash cloths which can be applied to numerous other knitting projects. Calling all gamers! Have a blast learning how to code while building robotic games to test your code. You will learn about sequencing commands, value and sensor inputs, and loops. This month, kids will create a Robo Pup. This is a free event for kids 6-9. Children under the age of 6 will not be admitted into this program. Registration is required.

In this hands-on biodesign activity, visitors ages 8 and up will explore the fascinating world of biodegradable polymers derived from seaweed. Using alginate, a natural polymer found in large brown algae like kelp, participants mix a custom algae gel and transform it into colorful, squishy strings through a chemical reaction in a calcium bath. 

Celebrate the arrival of Pi Day at The RiverFront on 3.14! The RiverFront will have a variety of Pi-related activities. Come read our Pi Day story walk, enjoy crafts, games, and of course mini pies as you celebrate the mathematical holiday! Join at the 11th Street Promenade at Gene Leahy Mall!

STEM has never been so sweet! In this hands-on program, kids will explore science and engineering using tasty treats as their tools. Using a handheld blacklight, educators from Nebraska Wildlife Rehab will help uncover the science of biofluorescence with a unique presentation and hands-on glowing experiments! This is a free event for Teens 13+. Registration is encouraged.

Perhaps you're interested in understanding the role fire has played in shaping Iowa's ecological communities?  If so, then this class is for you! This program is designed for adults and older teens who are new to outdoor skills, and who have a desire to deepen their place-based knowlege. Join naturalist Dustin Clayton and learn how to build a fire using a variety of techniques and materials.  We will have lots of time for practice and experimentation with the different methods discussed.
