Join Teaching Artist, Chelsea Herman, as they guide us in the technique of pamphlet stitch binding. This hand-stitched binding is well suited for poetry chapbooks, imagery, and short texts or for creating elegant handbound catalogues, menus, and event keepsakes. Learn different variations of this binding and how each offers unique opportunities for presenting content. Patrons will bind their own pamphlet stitch booklet to take home. Mush in to meet a real Iditarod racer and sled dog! Join Karen and Sophia, the Alaskan husky, for a presentation about mushing, a demonstration of Arctic clothing and gear, and a Q&A. Dog mushing is a traditional mode of Arctic transportation, and 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the 1925 Serum Run with Balto and Togo — the historic event on which the Iditarod race is based. Celebrate these brave dogs and mushers with Karen and Sophia at the library!

Santa and his holiday crew will arrive in La Vista and travel through the City before stopping in Central Park to light the tree, lead a joyful sing-along and snap a big community selfie with Santa (no individual Santa photos). Come explore Santa’s Workshop, view Christmas lights in Central Park, see live animals, listen to Christmas carols and enjoy free cookies, cocoa and glow necklaces.
Each year Relevant puts on Elkhorn’s Annual Tree Lighting Party in order to bless the Elkhorn community. Come celebrate with us on Main St. in Olde Towne Elkhorn on Sunday, November 30 from 4:00-5:30pm. The festivities are free and feature live Christmas music, a visit from Santa, fire pits, free food, s’mores, and hot cocoa. Invite your family and friends! All are welcome! This Giving Tuesday, join at the Dundee for a holiday market and open house Get some early holiday shopping done in the Dundee Theater lobby and gift a mix of redeemable experiences and other fun things!
The ceremony is a spiritual and meditative event lasting 90 minutes, with a focus on releasing negative energy to increase relaxation, creativity, and focus. It is centered around the consumption of ceremonial grade cacao, a gentle plant medicine (think hot chocolate) that is full of essential minerals and rich in antioxidants like flavonoids that help protect the body from oxidative stress and inflammation. During the ceremony the cacao is chopped and melted into a drink to be sipped on, accompanied by a combination of guided meditation, breath work, and journaling. Cost: $25 | Garden members: $20
The series is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 9 – 10 am and 10 – 11 am. The cost to participate is $5 per child and $5 per adult per program and includes admission to the Education Center after the program. Schramm Family Pass members participate free. A State Park Vehicle Entry Permit is not required in the Schramm Education Center parking lot.

In this interactive workshop, you will explore the fascinating science of bioluminescence—the natural ability of organisms to produce light! Participants will create their own glowing reactions using safe household materials, discover real-life bioluminescent organisms, and unleash their creativity by designing unique glowing deep-sea creatures. 2nd Annual Downtown Papillion Cookie Crawl—a festive tradition that’s quickly becoming a local favorite! Last year, over 200 cookie lovers joined in the fun, collecting mouthwatering treats from small businesses all around town. Holiday shopping to do? Shop local this holiday season and enjoy flash sales during our Winter Wine Walk. This is a sip and shop event where participants get to sample select wines from Corkscrew Wine & Cheese while enjoying snacks at each store and special holiday flash sales! Show your ID at ANY of the participating stores to get your wristband. This event is FREE. Must be 21 to participate.
Bring the family for a holiday celebration that’s truly out of this world. Meet Santa from 12 to 4, visit with two real reindeer, and enjoy a warm cup of cocoa in our Fireside Room. From cookies and snacks to festive fun, it’s the perfect way to spend a winter afternoon surrounded by aircraft, lights, and the spirit of the season.
At 2:00 pm, gather in the theater for a special reading of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. The 501st Legion (Star Wars characters) will be making appearances throughout the day, and our Maker’s Market will feature unique gifts from local creators. Kids can write letters or color pictures for Santa before delivering them in person.
Let’s wrap up the year in style at the 15th Annual Christmas in the Village at 24th & Lake! From festive music to family-friendly activities and local vendors, this is your chance to soak in the holiday cheer with the whole community.

From frosty walks to chilly outdoor adventures in Acorn Acres, we’re encouraging the community to bundle up get outdoors this winter! Savor the sips of the season at the 5th Annual Holiday Cocktail Crawl! Each participating establishment will offer a signature holiday cocktail. Visit as many stops as you like, in any order you like, and cast your vote for the best cocktail in midtown! And be sure to break out the festive attire — ugly sweaters, cocktail dresses, Santa suits welcome!
Are you ready for the winter holidays? Get photos taken for free to send to family or friends! We'll have the green screen backdrop set up in the second floor of the library to take photos and then Photoshop it onto a winter background. *Note: Do not wear green.

All proceeds from vendor fee's, raffle, as well as food and drink sold by St. Augustine on the day of the market will benefit Magdalene Omaha, their mission is to provide individualized support for survivors of sex trafficking to achieve freedom from violence, trauma, and addiction.
The Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, December 6th-7th, at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. The hours of the show are from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is $6 and children 10 and younger are free. Parking is free throughout the show. All patrons who attend the show on Saturday will receive a two-day re-entry stamp.
