Get ready for some fun and friendly competition on the second Wednesday of the summer months. They will be traveling to a new location within La Vista each month. Two quizmaster hosts will keep the questions coming as teams of up to six battle it out for prizes and bragging rights. No phones are allowed to find clues or search for answers to the questions. Food truck will be on site.
Join OPL at the Gene Leahy Mall for storytime! Storytime is geared toward preschoolers, but all ages are welcome to join in the fun. Rain or shine, we'll be there! They will be under the big white pavilion.
Join OPL for a special storytime featuring the book Harry and Hot Lava by Chris Robertson! At the conclusion of storytime, children will be timed as they jump and hop their way through an obstacle course using various surfaces. Go as fast as you can, but don’t fall in because…the Floor is Lava! This is a free event for children 4+.
Join OPL as we welcome staff from Papio Natural Resources District. They will teach us all about turtles! Did you know Nebraska is home to 9 species of turtles? With the help of a few animal educators, we will learn all about what makes a turtle, a turtle!
Join Omaha Street Percussion for a workshop designed to give young patrons an opportunity to drum, while at the same time learn the importance of teamwork. Participants will be challenged to multi-task by using skills such as counting, listening, and watching for instruction and guidance in order to accomplish the ultimate goal, which is to perform as a whole group! Registration is required
Cool off this summer at the Summer Splash (formerly Hydrant Party). This La Vista summer tradition brings community members together to enjoy some outdoor fun with water. Local firefighters will be there to provide a giant sprinkler. Water toys and squirt guns are available for attendees to use and enjoy.
Get ready to soak up the sun and feel the rhythm at the Summer Vibes Concert Series, your weekly dose of live music, good vibes, and unforgettable summer nights! Join Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm for an exciting lineup of local and regional talent—featuring everything from rock and pop to funk and soul. Vibes concerts are located in the Village Pointe Amphitheater, sponsored by Children’s Nebraska.
Join for the ultimate summer soirée at John C Fremont City Park! Concert in the Park is an outdoor concert series that will elevate your Thursday nights in June. Bring the whole family for a night of fun, starting with exciting kids' activities at 6:30 pm, followed by the sweet sounds of live music from 7 to 9 pm.
Each week, Quasar pairs up a local business with a local charitable cause, to present a “Classic” retro title for a “Free-to-the-Public ” event to raise awareness and support. This is a great way for your organization to educate and interact with an eager audience. Solicitation of free-will donations or mission-specific item donations can be part of pre-event, advertising co-op.

They're going to travel back in time millions of years to explore the amazing world of dinosaurs! Ranger Anthony from Stomp Chomp Roar will be here with a MUSEUM BUS to teach kids all about paleontology and the lives of dinosaurs. Stomp on by!

Join a Teaching Artist from the Joslyn Art Museum in this exciting artmaking activity to create some really vibrant and expressive artwork. Teens will dive headfirst into the exciting world of printmaking, and we will use nature as our inspiration. Teens will create their own design on a reusable fabric tote bag! All supplies are included. This is a free event for teens aged 13 -18. Registration is required
Let’s Keep It Poppin Summer Art Fair will be a family-friendly good day out. With the summer festivities coming to an end we will still be making it POP after the Fourth of July with phenomenal local vendors of the midlands. The Blind Picasso nonprofit will be bringing in vendors who sale items from beautiful canvas art to delicious delicate bites of sweetness. We will be having one of the e best DJs in Omaha to bring good vibe music to make our last moments of summer unforgettable.

80's Movie Night. Dinosaurs make a grand comeback to the park, shaking the event lawn with their thunderous roars! This serves as a crucial reminder to avoid wandering around the park during a rainstorm, as you might cross paths with a venomous dinosaur that could leave you blinded. Join this summer for some stargazing at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park! Powerful telescopes will be set up at the park’s golf shack for a glimpse of the night sky spectaculars. The event is free to the public, but you will need a valid Nebraska park entry permit for your vehicle. Stargazing will begin at dusk. Remember to bring your camp chairs or blankets! Telescopes will be provided.
