The Very Hungry Caterpillar will visit for a special storytime! Children of all ages are welcome. Experience stories, creative movement, music and more. We explore the early literacy skills of singing, playing, reading, talking, and writing in each storytime. There will be opportunities to take photos.

Join for a wildly good time! On Wednesday, June 11, Wildlife Encounters will take over the library with plenty of fuzzy, scaly, and crawly friends. This event is free to attend and open to everyone. Yes, adults, that means you can come too!
Join us for a free community dance class with a cast member from MJ the Musical! This hit Broadway musical tells the story of Michael Jackson’s rise to stardom and fame. People of all skill levels age 12 and up are welcome! Register!!
Come and help us celebrate playtime with playtime! They'll have piles of toys set out and ready for kids to enjoy freely, from baby toys to building toys to crafty, creative toys. Plus, every kid will get a FREE orange Simpl Dimpl! Come on, let's play!
Ready to play ball? Join Omaha Public Library for a sports-themed adventure! You will be “locked” in a room, and in order to escape in time, you will need to solve various sports-related puzzles and clues before your time is up. This escape room is for adults, ages 19+. They will have two different sessions, one at 5:00 PM and one at 6:00 PM. Registration is required
Get ready for some fun and friendly competition on the second Wednesday of the summer months. They will be traveling to a new location within La Vista each month. Two quizmaster hosts will keep the questions coming as teams of up to six battle it out for prizes and bragging rights. No phones are allowed to find clues or search for answers to the questions. Food truck will be on site.
PACE & Omaha Musician’s Association is excited to welcome you back to Bayliss Park this summer for some LIVE music. Wednesday nights, we have an amazing music event lined up for you. It's going to be a great evening of live music in the park, so make sure to gather your family and friends and come on down. We have a lot of other great local bands lined up for Wednesday nights at 7PM as well.

NASA Glenn Research Center – the only NASA center based in the Midwest – is coming to Omaha to celebrate the city’s diamond anniversary as the host city for the NCAA College World Series! NASA will have a presence at the Kiewit Luminarium RiverFront with space-themed exhibits for the whole family to enjoy, a 53-foot interactive traveling exhibit with games and activations, as well as giveaways. The fun will go from Thursday June 12 – Sunday June 15 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Kick off your summer with Kids FunFare — a lively, family-friendly event happening every Thursday morning in June at Regency Shopping Center!

Are you in your beaded bracelet era? Join OPL to make these widely popular statement pieces! Use polymer clay beads, letter beads and more to bedazzle your own bracelet or make one for a friend. This is a free event and is suggested for kids aged 7-14. Registration is required
Cool off this summer at the Summer Splash (formerly Hydrant Party). This La Vista summer tradition brings community members together to enjoy some outdoor fun with water. Local firefighters will be there to provide a giant sprinkler. Water toys and squirt guns are available for attendees to use and enjoy.
Join for a very special Daddy-Daughter Date Night! Grab a spot today! It is going to be a night to remember! They have three time slots available: 5-5:45pm, 6:15-7:00pm, and 7:30-8:15pm. There will be fun activities, CFA Swag and delicious food. SO many fun memories will be made this night. We will even have a visit from a princess!
Join Omaha Street Percussion for a workshop designed to give young patrons an opportunity to drum, while at the same time learn the importance of teamwork. Participants will be challenged to multi-task by using skills such as counting, listening, and watching for instruction and guidance in order to accomplish the ultimate goal, which is to perform as a whole group!

Poop, vomit, slime, and even more amazing disgusting topics will be explored as we learn about some of the grossest (and coolest) animal traits. Join OPL and educators from the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium to learn about mammal digestion and discover why scientists use poop to track animal migration patterns.
Just how do instruments make sound? In this storytime with the Omaha Symphony’s education team, we’ll explore pitch and vibration in this interactive program centered around Mary and her Little Lamb (and Llama!). Designed for students ages 3-7, all ages are welcome in this musical adventure.
Join time traveler Professor Brock Branabas for an immersive and entertaining adventure where we’ll learn to tame and protect ourselves from fierce dragons! In the event of inclement weather, this program will move to CB Library Meeting Room B.
