Let's go on a bug hunt!! Create your very own Bug Garden Sensory Bin. Then dig in and feel all the creepy crawly textures, observe your insects with a magnifying glass, and of course catch your bugs with the mini net!! This is a FREE, all ages event! First come, first serve, while supplies last!

Award-winning blues artist C.A. Waller, has been singing and playing the blues throughout the Midwest and South for more than 50 years. Through performance, storytelling, and a discussion of historical context Mr. Waller presents the musical styles, personal stories, and cultural background of the blues, and the people who sang and lived the blues. The story of the blues is the story of the establishment and development of the African-American society in our country, and the valuable contribution its practitioners have made to our collective culture. C.A. Waller is dedicated to the preservation of this unique oral tradition.

Experience stories, creative movement, music and more. Explore the early literacy skills of singing, playing, reading, talking and writing in each storytime! Children of all ages are welcome; storytimes will be tailored for the age of the children present. At this storytime, we will learn about fire safety with a local firefighter and even see a fire truck!

Join dancers from the American Midwest Ballet for a 30 minute Alice in Wonderland storytime. We’ll read the story, watch the ballerinas dance, and learn some steps and stretches, too!

Join on March 27 from 5-7 PM for free pizza and playtime at We Rock the Spectrum, a sensory-sensitive, inclusive indoor playground! This is a free event, and everyone is welcome!

For one weekend only, Unlock Midtown invites sleuths and clue-seekers to visit participating Midtown Crossing retailers, each hosting a unique, brand-new puzzle in need of solving. Your mission is to successfully complete each one. NEW for 2025 – Unlock Midtown: Kids Edition! This is a great way to include the whole family, with puzzles geared toward ages 5-10.

Do you have a little one who loves animals, nature, and the outdoors? Are you looking for opportunities to explore the outdoors together with your children? Join us for Little Saplings, Schramm Education Center’s early childhood nature discovery program. Little Saplings, a monthly program designed for children ages 2 – 5 and their adult caregiver, will bring nature themes to life for your child through story time, sensory activities, crafts, and outdoor exploration!

Want to jazz up your potted plant this spring? Come decorate your own terracotta pot at the library on Thursday, April 3. We provide the supplies, you bring the creativity! This activity is open to all ages. Pots are available on a first come, first serve basis.

You’ve seen them make up scenes right before your eyes on the TV show Whose Line is it Anyway —now see them live and in person! It’s 90 minutes of hilarious improvised comedy and song, all based on audience suggestions. Audience participation is key to the show, so bring your suggestions and you might be asked to join the cast onstage! Whose Live Anyway showcases some of the improv games made famous on the long-running TV show, as well as some exciting new ones!

Join OPL at The Joslyn for storytime, featuring stories, creative movement, music and exploration of a piece of art. Storytime is geared toward preschoolers, but all ages are welcome. This Storytime is part of The Joslyn's monthly Art-tastic Saturdays.
