Mush in to meet a real Iditarod racer and sled dog! Join Karen and Sophia, the Alaskan husky, for a presentation about mushing, a demonstration of Arctic clothing and gear, and a Q&A. Dog mushing is a traditional mode of Arctic transportation, and 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the 1925 Serum Run with Balto and Togo — the historic event on which the Iditarod race is based. Celebrate these brave dogs and mushers with Karen and Sophia at the library!

Ho Ho Ho! During the busy holiday season, The Durham Museum makes it easy for families to create special memories with Santa. Tuesday Nights with Santa are filled with family-fun activities, and of course, an appearance from Jolly Saint Nick himself! Santa's Cabin closes at 7:30PM.
The ceremony is a spiritual and meditative event lasting 90 minutes, with a focus on releasing negative energy to increase relaxation, creativity, and focus. It is centered around the consumption of ceremonial grade cacao, a gentle plant medicine (think hot chocolate) that is full of essential minerals and rich in antioxidants like flavonoids that help protect the body from oxidative stress and inflammation. During the ceremony the cacao is chopped and melted into a drink to be sipped on, accompanied by a combination of guided meditation, breath work, and journaling. Cost: $25 | Garden members: $20
The series is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 9 – 10 am and 10 – 11 am. The cost to participate is $5 per child and $5 per adult per program and includes admission to the Education Center after the program. Schramm Family Pass members participate free. A State Park Vehicle Entry Permit is not required in the Schramm Education Center parking lot.

Stroll through the festive La Vista Wonderland in Central Park, see the reindeer, sip on free hot cocoa, snack on cookies and enjoy holiday activities while you wait to meet Santa. Check in at the tent and get a pager right away when you arrive for your visit. The Workshop may reach capacity at times—Santa is a popular guy after all. Please be prepared to spend some time outdoors (or in the tent) before entering the building.

Holiday shopping to do? Shop local this holiday season and enjoy flash sales during our Winter Wine Walk. This is a sip and shop event where participants get to sample select wines from Corkscrew Wine & Cheese while enjoying snacks at each store and special holiday flash sales! Show your ID at ANY of the participating stores to get your wristband. This event is FREE. Must be 21 to participate.

At 2:00 pm, gather in the theater for a special reading of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. The 501st Legion (Star Wars characters) will be making appearances throughout the day, and our Maker’s Market will feature unique gifts from local creators. Kids can write letters or color pictures for Santa before delivering them in person.
Let’s wrap up the year in style at the 15th Annual Christmas in the Village at 24th & Lake! From festive music to family-friendly activities and local vendors, this is your chance to soak in the holiday cheer with the whole community.
'Tis the season to be jolly, Bellevue Berry Farm would love to invite you all to enjoy our Country Christmas event. Let’s celebrate the Season in our cozy country atmosphere with Hot Cocoa, decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus, write your Christmas list and then take a picture with Santa. Savor the sips of the season at the 5th Annual Holiday Cocktail Crawl! Each participating establishment will offer a signature holiday cocktail. Visit as many stops as you like, in any order you like, and cast your vote for the best cocktail in midtown! And be sure to break out the festive attire — ugly sweaters, cocktail dresses, Santa suits welcome!
Are you ready for the winter holidays? Get photos taken for free to send to family or friends! We'll have the green screen backdrop set up in the second floor of the library to take photos and then Photoshop it onto a winter background. *Note: Do not wear green.

Please join the City of Gretna for our annual Handmade Holiday Market in conjunction with Greenery and Glitter in Downtown Gretna on McKenna Ave. This event will take place in the old Fire Department Building right next to City Hall.
Grab a friend, partner, family member or work alone while creating a Christmas Winter Diorama. Using a box, mini figures, craft material and lots of imagination, participants will build their own winter wonderland or holiday scene to take home. Whether it’s Santa’s workshop, a cozy snowy village or a gingerbread house scene, let your imagination come to life. All supplies are provided, or participants can bring their own items to add to the diorama. This program is ideal for participants to work in pairs (parent-child, siblings, friends), but you may work alone. *Registration is required and space is limited. There is a nonrefundable material fee of $10 per diorama. Stop by the Library to get registered.
