Muggles and magic users of all kinds are invited to OPL for a celebration of the characters, creatures, and world from the "Harry Potter" book series! Come discuss the books, get sorted into your House, and do crafts and activities based on this popular fandom. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. This program is for teens ages 13-18. Registration is required
Gather a group of friends or family members to explore the Washington Branch and neighborhood! Stop by the Washington Branch to pick up a zine detailing ten locations to explore. You’ll have four hours to see as many of the sights as you can before heading back to the library for a prize! All groups will begin and end at Washington.
This is a free event for adults 19+.
Get ready to soak up the sun and feel the rhythm at the Summer Vibes Concert Series, your weekly dose of live music, good vibes, and unforgettable summer nights! Join Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm for an exciting lineup of local and regional talent—featuring everything from rock and pop to funk and soul. Vibes concerts are located in the Village Pointe Amphitheater, sponsored by Children’s Nebraska.
Each week, Quasar pairs up a local business with a local charitable cause, to present a “Classic” retro title for a “Free-to-the-Public ” event to raise awareness and support. This is a great way for your organization to educate and interact with an eager audience. Solicitation of free-will donations or mission-specific item donations can be part of pre-event, advertising co-op.
Come cool off at our Watermelon Festival, held right here on one of the largest watermelon farms in the Midwest! We grow over 6 varieties of watermelon (plus cantaloupe!)—and during this special event, you can eat as much as you want.

Calling all witches and wizards! Think you have what it takes to participate in this Wizarding Adventure? Come solve puzzles and clues to unlock a prize box before time runs out in this escape room based on the best-selling "Harry Potter" book series. There will be three escape rooms, at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. for participants ages 8-12. Try to escape over summer break! Registration is required
Get ready to unearth Egypt's ancient secrets as your crew investigates the mystery of the Lost Mummy. This escape room will bring the past back to life. But hold on... maybe some things are best left buried. This is a free event for teens aged 13-18. Registration is required and will open June 15. There will be three escape rooms at 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
Every First Friday of the month in the Benson Creative District for a night filled with art, live music, food, and community! From 5 PM to 2 AM, experience a variety of gallery openings, art exhibitions, local vendors, and live performances at venues across Maple Street and beyond!
All performances are 6-8pm and take place on the Turner Park Patio, near PROOF Whiskey Bar & Craft Cocktails.

This is the inaugural year of what’s set to become Nebraska’s biggest celebration of comics, cosplay, pop culture, and fandom. Meet comic guests, shop exclusive merch, explore artist alley, compete in gaming tournaments, and connect with fellow fans from all over the region.
On August, the topic will be owls! Celebrate Owl Awareness Day as you learn about these mysterious nocturnal hunters, dissect an owl pellet and more. The event will be held at the pavilion east of the Caboose Park.

Roll on into OPL and roll up some candy sushi! We’ll explore the different types of sushi, make our own out of candy and rice krispie treats, and practice our chopstick skills in this free, interactive program for children ages 8-12. Registration is required

After storytime, your stuffie friend will stay at the library for a sleepover with the librarians, where we’ll take pictures of them doing all sorts of fun activities. Gather in Central Park to celebrate La Vista’s community and many Omaha metro area first responders. This safety-focused event features “touch-a-truck” with first responder vehicles, a greeting from Mayor Kindig, face painters and activities, free treats, plenty of safety information and demonstrations.

Annual performing arts festival with a mix of theater, comedy, and dance. It celebrates independent, experimental, and original live theater and performance art.
The Omaha Inland Port Authority (OIPA) invites residents, business owners, and community members to take part in shaping the vision for the North Omaha Innovation District Plan. The workshop will take place Thursday, August 7th, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Metropolitan Community College’s Fort Omaha Campus, inside the Swanson Conference Center at the Institute for the Culinary Arts (5300 N. 30th Street, Omaha). A presentation will be given at 6:15 p.m. During this hands-on workshop, the public will collaborate with the project team to explore ideas for physical spaces, programs and services that reflect community culture and needs, and policies that promote inclusive growth without displacement.
