Ho Ho Ho! During the busy holiday season, The Durham Museum makes it easy for families to create special memories with Santa. Tuesday Nights with Santa are filled with family-fun activities, and of course, an appearance from Jolly Saint Nick himself! Santa's Cabin closes at 7:30PM.
The ceremony is a spiritual and meditative event lasting 90 minutes, with a focus on releasing negative energy to increase relaxation, creativity, and focus. It is centered around the consumption of ceremonial grade cacao, a gentle plant medicine (think hot chocolate) that is full of essential minerals and rich in antioxidants like flavonoids that help protect the body from oxidative stress and inflammation. During the ceremony the cacao is chopped and melted into a drink to be sipped on, accompanied by a combination of guided meditation, breath work, and journaling. Cost: $25 | Garden members: $20
Experience stories, creative movement, music and more. Explore the early literacy skills of singing, playing, reading, talking and writing in each storytime! Children of all ages are welcome; storytimes will be tailored for the age of the children present. At this storytime, we will learn about fire safety with a local firefighter and even see a fire truck!

Catchy tunes, silly stories, goofy gifts, audience antics: it’s all in this brand-new musical party that sleighs!
Join for a free, year-round program where families can explore, play, and connect through bilingual yoga, mindfulness and wellness practices. Designed for children ages 5–12, younger siblings welcome with their caregivers, this class supports social engagement, emotional regulation, and open-ended play.
Santa is opening the doors to his workshop in La Vista once again, and you’re invited to join the fun! Stroll through the festive La Vista Wonderland in Central Park, see the reindeer, sip on free hot cocoa, snack on cookies and enjoy holiday activities while you wait to meet Santa. Check in at the tent and get a pager right away when you arrive for your visit. The Workshop may reach capacity at times—Santa is a popular guy after all. Please be prepared to spend some time outdoors (or in the tent) before entering the building.
Santa has landed at the LNK Terminal! Enjoy hot chocolate, festive activities, live performances, and a free photo with Santa. Event Highlights: Free photo with Santa, hot chocolate station, free cookies, ornament crafting, face painting, balloon artists, dance performances and more. A guest-favorite event, Holiday Cultural Festival offers unique crafts and traditional dress while musicians and dancers perform in front of Omaha’s official Christmas tree throughout the night. Hitchcock Nature Center is proud to host another amazing Hitchcock Experience Endurance Run, presented by the Greater Omaha Area Trail-Runnerz. Runners will descend upon the park on December 6th and 7th to participate in a half-marathon, 101K, 50-mile, or 100-mile endurance run through the picturesque Loess Hills.

The Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, December 6th-7th, at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. The hours of the show are from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is $6 and children 10 and younger are free. Parking is free throughout the show. All patrons who attend the show on Saturday will receive a two-day re-entry stamp.

In this interactive workshop, you will explore the fascinating science of bioluminescence—the natural ability of organisms to produce light! Participants will create their own glowing reactions using safe household materials, discover real-life bioluminescent organisms, and unleash their creativity by designing unique glowing deep-sea creatures. 2nd Annual Downtown Papillion Cookie Crawl—a festive tradition that’s quickly becoming a local favorite! Last year, over 200 cookie lovers joined in the fun, collecting mouthwatering treats from small businesses all around town. This is a sip and shop event where participants get to sample select wines from Corkscrew Wine & Cheese while enjoying snacks at each store and special holiday flash sales! At 2:00 pm, gather in the theater for a special reading of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. The 501st Legion (Star Wars characters) will be making appearances throughout the day, and our Maker’s Market will feature unique gifts from local creators. Kids can write letters or color pictures for Santa before delivering them in person.
