Ages: 3 – 8. Join for an afternoon of crafting as we make special Valentine’s Day cards. All supplies will be provided, so just bring your imagination. Come celebrate the season of love with us and create cards that are sure to make someone’s day!
Nature explorers is an exciting interactive program designed for kids ages 6-11 to explore the wonders of nature and animals. Kids will learn about different animal species, their habitats, and meet an educational animal up close. Take part in an activity or craft and enjoy a guided hike. February's theme is snakes. Are snakes slimy? Where do they go in the winter? We will answer these questions during a meet and greet with a snake
Join us as we celebrate the release of the new Dog Man movie! Test your skills in a special police academy obstacle course, do some Dog Man detective work, and enjoy themed activities celebrating everyone’s favorite police dog!
Join in the sunroom of Arbor Lodge Mansion for a special Valentine's Tea. Enjoy an assortment of teas and dainty brunch and dessert selections, along with musical entertainment and a brief history of Valentine's Day greetings. In addition to the tea, participants can explore the mansion and view the special “Love Is in the Air” exhibit, featuring displays of Morton Family weddings and vintage Valentine card collections. Teas will be at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Cost is $30 per person and includes your mansion admission and entrance to the tea. Purchase tickets

After gathering your rations, teams will embark on an interactive journey with hands-on activities reminiscent of the 90s computer game. Can you survive the Oregon Trail? There will be two live action sessions, at 11 a.m. and noon. This is a free event for adults 19+. Registration is required.

Learn about how birds of prey choose their mates and raise their families while enjoying sweet treats and designing your own raptor-themed Talontines! This program requires preregistration. The cost is five dollars for members, and admission plus five dollars for non-members.
Today we will have tree-mendous fun with Keep Omaha Beautiful educators! We’ll read the story Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert and watch as Leaf Man rides the wind and journeys across the land. After reading the book, we’ll take a short nature walk to explore our own library landscape and collect nature treasures. We’ll finish our adventure by making our own leafy creatures.

Historically, the dominant habitat in Iowa has been tall grass prairie. Once, massive herds of bison and elk roamed over this landscape. These large herbivores played a vital role in sustaining the prairie. During this special session of Homeschool in the Hills, we’ll examine how bison and elk helped shape the prairie and we’ll look at the complex relationship between humans and these large prairie dwellers. We’ll even get an opportunity to get an up close look at the bison and elk herds at Botna Bend Park.

Will the club survive? Will the frogs ever get along? And will creativity finally save the day? All will be answered in this madcap musical based on Dav Pilkey’s irreverently hilarious Dog Man spin-off series, Cat Kid Comic Club.

Many people enjoy Conversation Hearts on Valentine’s Day, but we are here to teach conservation! We will be creating “Conservation Hearts” with recycled materials. Participants will learn about fast fashion and over-packaging and discuss some ways to cut back on waste this year.
Participants are welcome to contribute a few small pieces of scrap fabric cut from worn-out clothing or leftovers from sewing projects. We will provide materials. The heart takes about 30 minutes to make.
A puzzle competition with an Escape Room twist! Each team will have 2 hours to complete the same 368-piece puzzle and solve the included mystery. There will be 10 teams competing to see who can finish the puzzle the fastest!
Join OPL for a fun-filled afternoon watching "Wonka" (2023)! It will be an interactive experience with activities during the movie. Families may bring blankets, pillows, and food with the expectation that each family will clean up their mess. Doors will open at 1:45 p.m. with the events starting at 2 p.m. This is a free event for kids 5+.
