World O! Water is a fun, annual event for all ages to learn about the important role water plays in our lives and community. Everyone is welcome to this free event including families, youth groups and scout troops, and even your dog! Join in the fun on Saturday, September 12th from 12 noon til 4 pm at Chalco Hills Recreation Area. Enjoy a free hotdog lunch while supplies last.
The Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow highlights Native American dance, music, regalia, oral history and arts. With its rich ties to Native American history, where Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his people were detained pending the 1879 landmark civil rights case granting Native Americans the right of Habeas corpus, the Fort Omaha Campus continues to offer an ideal location for this outdoor community event uniting people of diverse cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. This event is family-friendly and free and open to the public.
Celebrating Native American cultures, the powwow honors the traditional dance, music, artistry, oral history and foods of various tribes across Nebraska and the surrounding region including Omaha, Ponca, Santee Sioux and Winnebago.

Enjoy decorating your own gingerbread cookies alongside Santa and Mrs. Claus! This event is free to attend, but we kindly ask each guest to bring one non-perishable food item per person participating in cookie decorating. Welcome to what will quickly become another Omaha tradition. We are taking over the Heartwood pop up winter rink for a full four hour Chanukah party. To reserve your skating time just email the rink at the posted address. You do not need to be an ice skater to have a great time. There will be Israeli donuts, the latke truck, hot cocoa stations, crafts for all ages and the debut of our ice sculptured Menorah. When the sculptor finishes, we will light it together. Watching a Menorah emerge from a block of ice is a sight you will not forget.

Ho Ho Ho! During the busy holiday season, The Durham Museum makes it easy for families to create special memories with Santa. Tuesday Nights with Santa are filled with family-fun activities, and of course, an appearance from Jolly Saint Nick himself! Santa's Cabin closes at 7:30PM.
Santa is on his way to Lauritzen Gardens! Bring the kids to visit with the jolly old man in the bright red suit as he stops at the garden this holiday season. Share a wish with the North Pole’s greatest ambassador, and capture this year’s holiday family photo (please bring your own camera to take pictures). Santa will be located in the classroom of Sofia's Play Garden. Included with a ticket to Bright Nights.

Homeschool Hikes is a monthly nature exploration program hosted by the Schramm Education Center geared towards homeschool families. Each month, families can join a naturalist for a guided hike on the Schramm Park State Recreation Area hiking trails. During the program, participants will ask questions, draw, observe, and make discoveries in nature.
Join Washington Branch every Thursday as local community members share their story. Enjoy snacks, engage in discussion with the storyteller, and explore new professions, storytelling mediums, and activities. This program is for teens 11–18 years old.
