World O! Water is a fun, annual event for all ages to learn about the important role water plays in our lives and community. Everyone is welcome to this free event including families, youth groups and scout troops, and even your dog! Join in the fun on Saturday, September 12th from 12 noon til 4 pm at Chalco Hills Recreation Area. Enjoy a free hotdog lunch while supplies last.
The Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow highlights Native American dance, music, regalia, oral history and arts. With its rich ties to Native American history, where Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his people were detained pending the 1879 landmark civil rights case granting Native Americans the right of Habeas corpus, the Fort Omaha Campus continues to offer an ideal location for this outdoor community event uniting people of diverse cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. This event is family-friendly and free and open to the public.

Crafted from reclaimed wood and full of wild wisdom, these six towering trolls are on a mission to help humans rediscover their connection to nature. Explore the gardens and meet these gentle giants — each with a story and a whole lot of personality.
Write a letter and send it off to the North Pole. If you drop off a letter by December 13, you’ll get a response mailed back before Christmas. You can ask Santa questions, share a story, draw a picture or just let him know what gifts are on your wishlist this year. Drop your letters in one of the special mailboxes at Santa’s Workshop or at the Library. (No postage needed.) Be sure to include your name and return address so Santa knows where to send his reply.
When Mo Willems’ characters get together for the holidays, it’s bound to be the biggest extravaganza ever! The Unlimited Squirrels deck the halls and Elephant and Piggie come ready to celebrate! But will The Pigeon join in the festivities, or will he run all the way to the North Pole in the search of the greatest gift ever? Get your picture taken with the one and only Santa Claus, but before you tell him your wish list, enjoy a delicious breakfast. Parents are asked to stay with their children at the event. All participants must register.

Santa is opening the doors to his workshop in La Vista once again, and you’re invited to join the fun! Stroll through the festive La Vista Wonderland in Central Park, see the reindeer, sip on free hot cocoa, snack on cookies and enjoy holiday activities while you wait to meet Santa. Check in at the tent and get a pager right away when you arrive for your visit. The Workshop may reach capacity at times—Santa is a popular guy after all. Please be prepared to spend some time outdoors (or in the tent) before entering the building.
Bloomwell Autism Therapy is hosting a Sensory-Friendly Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 13 from 9 AM – 12 PM at our Elkhorn clinic! Join for a morning of FREE festive fun! We'll have photos with a sensory-sensitive Santa, Christmas crafts, and a breakfast of french toast sticks, pancakes, muffins, fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, milk, juice, and coffee!
Breakfast with Santa is back for the third year - An event for the whole family to enjoy! Pancake feed is from 9:30am-12:30pm. Santa will be available for photos from 10am-noon. Kids will be able to write a letter for him and hand it directly to him! This event is free for anyone to attend. No matter the weather they will have the event.

Come watch the Geminids Meteor Shower and stargaze at Neale Woods located at 14323 Edith Marie Ave. in Omaha. Our event will begin with a brief evening hike on dirt-packed trails through the prairie and forest. The Christmas Bird Count is a bird count that takes place every year around the holiday season! The Christmas Bird Count has been happening since 1900, and this year you can help! Join on a naturalist-guided bird count on the trails or boardwalk near the Nature Center. They will be hiking snow or shine, so make sure you come dressed for the weather! They’ll start with a brief history of the CBC, then hit the trails with a naturalist! Naturalists will lead hikes out to the Boardwalk or surrounding trails, but you can also opt to count birds inside by the bird feeders. They have binoculars available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis, but we encourage you to bring your own! Event is free with daily admission, but pre-registration is required.
