Everyone is welcome to this free event including families, youth groups and scout troops, and even your dog! The Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow highlights Native American dance, music, regalia, oral history and arts. With its rich ties to Native American history, where Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his people were detained pending the 1879 landmark civil rights case granting Native Americans the right of Habeas corpus, the Fort Omaha Campus continues to offer an ideal location for this outdoor community event uniting people of diverse cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. This event is family-friendly and free and open to the public.
Celebrating Native American cultures, the powwow honors the traditional dance, music, artistry, oral history and foods of various tribes across Nebraska and the surrounding region including Omaha, Ponca, Santee Sioux and Winnebago.

Now in its 94th year, the Plattsmouth Harvest Festival is the oldest, continuous harvest festival in Nebraska. Fun for the whole family, the 3-day event begins with the Coronation of the new King and Queen on Thursday evening. Friday includes carnival rides, Kiddie Parade, Sweetheart Awards, Pep Rally, Car Bash, Balloon Toss, and Bingo. Saturday includes Egg Toss, Chicken Chariot Race, Music & Entertainment, Cake Walk, Cow Drop contest, and the Grand Parade. Lots more to see and do the first weekend after Labor Day in September on and around Plattsmouth's Historic Main Street. Come join the fun.

Did you know that the trails at Schramm are a great WEB-site? Join us for a spider night hike. We will use flashlights to search for sparkling webs and reflective eyes as we hunt for amazing arachnids on the Hackberry Trail. Bring your own flashlight or head lamp. This is a free program; State Park Vehicle Entry Permit required. Meet at the park shelter next to Pond A (the first pond as you enter the park).
