World O! Water is a fun, annual event for all ages to learn about the important role water plays in our lives and community. Everyone is welcome to this free event including families, youth groups and scout troops, and even your dog! Join in the fun on Saturday, September 12th from 12 noon til 4 pm at Chalco Hills Recreation Area. Enjoy a free hotdog lunch while supplies last.
The Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow highlights Native American dance, music, regalia, oral history and arts. With its rich ties to Native American history, where Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his people were detained pending the 1879 landmark civil rights case granting Native Americans the right of Habeas corpus, the Fort Omaha Campus continues to offer an ideal location for this outdoor community event uniting people of diverse cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. This event is family-friendly and free and open to the public.
Celebrating Native American cultures, the powwow honors the traditional dance, music, artistry, oral history and foods of various tribes across Nebraska and the surrounding region including Omaha, Ponca, Santee Sioux and Winnebago.
Moonlight Princesses - Tribute to Demon Hunters comes to the Astro Theater on Sunday September 20th. Tickets on sale now for this all ages event. Open now through October 5, 2025! The biggest little adventure in town is crawling, buzzing, and flying its way to Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park! Experience Insect Adventure, an all-new giant journey, featuring 35 supersized animatronic insects and spiders from around the world. Enjoy a self-guided exploration with familiar favorites, like the monarch butterfly, honeybees, and the black widow spider, while encountering unique species such as the Madagascar hissing cockroach and the bullet ant.
Enjoy a special storytime with officers from the Papillion Police Department.
Wildlife Encounters and their animal ambassadors will join us at the park for an exciting, interactive, educational program all about animals adaptations, history, geography, and cool facts about each animal. In the event of inclement weather, this program will move to CB Library Meeting Room B.

Our much-anticipated summer exhibition, The Animation Academy: From Pencils to Pixels, invites visitors of all ages to leap into the fascinating realm of the cartoon genre. The Wednesday Night Workout Series offers a free mid-week outdoor workout, sponsored by Methodist Health System and led by licensed instructors from Genesis Health Clubs. Workout types vary from week-to-week, including popular favorites like Zumba, Mixxed Fit, PiYo and Barre.

PACE & Omaha Musician’s Association is excited to welcome you back to Bayliss Park this summer for some LIVE music. Wednesday nights, we have an amazing music event lined up for you. It's going to be a great evening of live music in the park, so make sure to gather your family and friends and come on down. We have a lot of other great local bands lined up for Wednesday nights at 7PM as well.
Popcorn Productions, LLC and Eugene T. Mahoney State Park present three melodramas this summer: “Peril of the Storm,” “Baron’s Revenge” and “Troll of Trafalgar.” Performances take place at the Denman and Mary Mallory Kountze Memorial Theatre inside the park.
Join children’s book illustrator, Chloe Burgett, as she shares what it's like drawing pictures for children's books. Chloe will present about her job, read her book, answer questions, and lead a draw-along activity. This is a free event event for all ages. Registration is required
Cool off this summer at the Summer Splash (formerly Hydrant Party). This La Vista summer tradition brings community members together to enjoy some outdoor fun with water. Local firefighters will be there to provide a giant sprinkler. Water toys and squirt guns are available for attendees to use and enjoy.

Each week, Quasar pairs up a local business with a local charitable cause, to present a “Classic” retro title for a “Free-to-the-Public ” event to raise awareness and support. Come cool off at our Watermelon Festival, held right here on one of the largest watermelon farms in the Midwest! We grow over 6 varieties of watermelon (plus cantaloupe!)—and during this special event, you can eat as much as you want.
The Washington County Fair has been a tradition for more than 100 years. The annual event provides a facility that allows 4-H members, businesses, organizations, and individuals to showcase their talents and products with an emphasis on agriculture.
Join American Midwest Ballet at the Performance Pavilion in Gene Leahy Mall for a free dance class. This class is open to all ages and led by a company dancer, and focuses on learning new steps and discovering the joy of dance.
Come face to face with some of the amazing critters you can find in the forest and learn all about why they are so neat! In the event of inclement weather, this program will be moved to the Library.
Participants will learn how animals use slime in nature and weird slime facts and will be invited to create a slime monster, blow slime bubbles or cut dripping slime with scissors. All supplies included. Children of all ages are welcome. Parents and/or caregivers are required to stay and help their children with this program.
