World O! Water is a fun, annual event for all ages to learn about the important role water plays in our lives and community. Everyone is welcome to this free event including families, youth groups and scout troops, and even your dog! Join in the fun on Saturday, September 12th from 12 noon til 4 pm at Chalco Hills Recreation Area. Enjoy a free hotdog lunch while supplies last.
The Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow highlights Native American dance, music, regalia, oral history and arts. With its rich ties to Native American history, where Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his people were detained pending the 1879 landmark civil rights case granting Native Americans the right of Habeas corpus, the Fort Omaha Campus continues to offer an ideal location for this outdoor community event uniting people of diverse cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. This event is family-friendly and free and open to the public.
Celebrating Native American cultures, the powwow honors the traditional dance, music, artistry, oral history and foods of various tribes across Nebraska and the surrounding region including Omaha, Ponca, Santee Sioux and Winnebago.

Let’s Keep It Poppin Summer Art Fair will be a family-friendly good day out. With the summer festivities coming to an end we will still be making it POP after the Fourth of July with phenomenal local vendors of the midlands. The Blind Picasso nonprofit will be bringing in vendors who sale items from beautiful canvas art to delicious delicate bites of sweetness. 80's Movie Night. Dinosaurs make a grand comeback to the park, shaking the event lawn with their thunderous roars! This serves as a crucial reminder to avoid wandering around the park during a rainstorm, as you might cross paths with a venomous dinosaur that could leave you blinded. Join this summer for some stargazing at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park! Powerful telescopes will be set up at the park’s golf shack for a glimpse of the night sky spectaculars. "$5 after 5" is back, giving guests an opportunity to visit the museum after 5PM on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. From June 3-August 26, admission for all ages will be just $5 after 5PM on Tuesdays.
