World O! Water is a fun, annual event for all ages to learn about the important role water plays in our lives and community. Everyone is welcome to this free event including families, youth groups and scout troops, and even your dog! Join in the fun on Saturday, September 12th from 12 noon til 4 pm at Chalco Hills Recreation Area. Enjoy a free hotdog lunch while supplies last.
The Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow highlights Native American dance, music, regalia, oral history and arts. With its rich ties to Native American history, where Ponca Chief Standing Bear and his people were detained pending the 1879 landmark civil rights case granting Native Americans the right of Habeas corpus, the Fort Omaha Campus continues to offer an ideal location for this outdoor community event uniting people of diverse cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. This event is family-friendly and free and open to the public.
Celebrating Native American cultures, the powwow honors the traditional dance, music, artistry, oral history and foods of various tribes across Nebraska and the surrounding region including Omaha, Ponca, Santee Sioux and Winnebago.

The Future of Rock Festival is a one-day, high-energy celebration designed to bring our music community together while creating opportunities for the next generation of musicians. Held at Granary Green in Ralston from 12 PM to 11 PM, the festival features several youth-led bands, local vendors, food trucks, outdoor games, a mobile skate park, arts and crafts, raffles, and more.
The event, is open to the public and free to attend. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and take part in the scheduled activities. “It’s an opportunity for students, families, and the community to come together, have fun, and connect over the things they love.” The event will include Trivia Panel, Raffle and Prize Drawings, Craft Activities, Vendors, Photo Opportunities, Combat Demonstration, Marial Arts Weapons Demonstration, Painting Workshop, Cosplayers, and more.
The event will also feature special guests, including Ghostbusters of Nebraska, Star Wars 501 Legion, Brutus and more. Guests will be available for photos and meet-and-greets during the event. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance to secure priority entry. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows. The event is free, and attendees should review the BU Library Comic Con rules and regulations.

This traditional method of Japanese storytelling combines beautiful illustrations with dramatic narration. Join Conservation Nebraska in celebrating National Scavenger Hunt Day at Elmwood Park with a free, nature-based scavenger hunt for all ages on Saturday, May 24th from 11:00 AM to Noon! Look for our feather flag and make sure to arrive early! The first 3 people to complete their scavenger hunts will receive a special prize and there will be treats for everyone who participates.
Park Naturalists will teach visitors about Nebraska reptiles and amphibians with live animal ambassadors. This program is free. A valid state park vehicle permit is required for entry.
