This is the inaugural year of what’s set to become Nebraska’s biggest celebration of comics, cosplay, pop culture, and fandom. Meet comic guests, shop exclusive merch, explore artist alley, compete in gaming tournaments, and connect with fellow fans from all over the region.
On August, the topic will be owls! Celebrate Owl Awareness Day as you learn about these mysterious nocturnal hunters, dissect an owl pellet and more. The event will be held at the pavilion east of the Caboose Park.
Headlining the festival are the legendary Pixies, pioneers of alternative rock whose influence resonates throughout modern music. Joining them is a stellar lineup of artists, including Grammy-nominated indie rock sensation Waxahatchee, indie rock icons Band of Horses, the mesmerizing synth-pop duo Magdalena Bay, alternative rock powerhouse Silversun Pickups, and Omaha’s own Little Brazil.

Join children’s book illustrator, Chloe Burgett, as she shares what it's like drawing pictures for children's books. Chloe will present about her job, read her book, answer questions, and lead a draw-along activity. This is a free event event for all ages. Registration is required

Crossroads joins forces with the The Joslyn for a day of creativity and connection for the whole family. Enjoy a fun-filled children’s concert, two performances by the enchanting Nordic-folk duo ííS, live poetry with Nebraska State Poets, current and former, Jewel Rodgers and Matt Mason, and an interactive storytelling-through-poetry workshop with Matt Mason. It’s a perfect way to experience music, stories, and art–together.

The Traynr Band at Stinson Park! There will be food and drink vendors, face painters, balloon artists, and playground equipment for kids to enjoy. Feel free to bring chairs, blankets, and coolers for the concerts. Please use koozies for your cans and plastic cups for other drinks, as glass is prohibited. Also, please refrain from bringing tents, canopies, or staking anything into the ground. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy your time in Stinson Park! Roll on into OPL and roll up some candy sushi! We’ll explore the different types of sushi, make our own out of candy and rice krispie treats, and practice our chopstick skills in this free, interactive program for children ages 8-12. Registration is required
Bring your favorite stuffed animal friend to a pajama storytime! After storytime, your stuffie friend will stay at the library for a sleepover with the librarians, where we’ll take pictures of them doing all sorts of fun activities. This program is for kids ages 0-7, but older siblings are welcome too.
"$5 after 5" is back, giving guests an opportunity to visit the museum after 5PM on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. From June 3-August 26, admission for all ages will be just $5 after 5PM on Tuesdays.

Join Washington Branch every Thursday as local community members share their story. Enjoy snacks, engage in discussion with the storyteller, and explore new professions, storytelling mediums, and activities. This program is for teens 11–18 years old.
The Omaha Inland Port Authority (OIPA) invites residents, business owners, and community members to take part in shaping the vision for the North Omaha Innovation District Plan. The workshop will take place Thursday, August 7th, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Metropolitan Community College’s Fort Omaha Campus, inside the Swanson Conference Center at the Institute for the Culinary Arts (5300 N. 30th Street, Omaha). A presentation will be given at 6:15 p.m. During this hands-on workshop, the public will collaborate with the project team to explore ideas for physical spaces, programs and services that reflect community culture and needs, and policies that promote inclusive growth without displacement.

This is a great way for your organization to educate and interact with an eager audience. Solicitation of free-will donations or mission-specific item donations can be part of pre-event, advertising co-op.

Popcorn Productions, LLC and Eugene T. Mahoney State Park present three melodramas this summer: “Peril of the Storm,” “Baron’s Revenge” and “Troll of Trafalgar.” Performances take place at the Denman and Mary Mallory Kountze Memorial Theatre inside the park.
Friday Night Flicks is back at=Gene Leahy Mall! This weeks movie is Moana 2! Come early to get a good spot on our Downtown Green and enjoy food trucks, free activities, and the park amenities. The movie will begin at dusk!
Join this summer for some stargazing at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park! Powerful telescopes will be set up at the park’s golf shack for a glimpse of the night sky spectaculars. The event is free to the public, but you will need a valid Nebraska park entry permit for your vehicle. Stargazing will begin at dusk. Remember to bring your camp chairs or blankets!
