The La Vista Recreation and Parks departments invite you to celebrate a holiday that originates right here in Nebraska! La Vista’s Arbor Day celebration is both fun and educational. Come learn why trees are so vital to the environment and how City staff maintain the trees in our parks. Free boxed lunches will be provided to those who pre-register. Reserve a lunch by Friday, April 17 at CityofLaVista.org/ArborDayLunch.
Learn about the planting and caring of trees while honoring Arbor Day, a national holiday that originated in Nebraska. Watch a special introduction and tree planting near the new picnic shelter.
Free grab-and-go lunches will be available to those who sign up in advance. Children are invited to take home free saplings and special gifts. (While supplies last.)
Celebrate the early days of Spring with a relaxing walk-through Central Park! Join for the Family & Friends Stroll Through the Park and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as we take a casual stroll together. They’ll gather at the shelter by the playground at 6:15 p.m., then set off on a leisurely walk. The full stroll covers just over a mile, but feel free to customize your adventure to suit your pace and needs. The stroll is stroller friendly and dogs on leashes are welcome. It’s a wonderful way to spend time outdoors and connect with loved ones! Bring water and your walking shoes. We look forward to seeing you there.
Join for a cozy evening of sweet treats and beautiful views at S’mores and Sunsets! Gather around the fire at the Central Park Shelter, where we’ll be making delicious s’mores while enjoying the breathtaking sunset. This family-friendly event is open to all ages, and no registration is required. Just bring your appetite for marshmallows and a love for the great outdoors! We look forward to seeing you there for a fun and relaxing evening.
