Bubbly New Year’s Eve
Don’t let bed times burst your bubble! We are celebrating our New Year’s Eve all day long. Put on some swag as you ring in the New Year with the Amazing Bubble Show, NYE crafts, characters, and bubble drops throughout the day. All activities included with admission, while supplies last.
Noon Year’s Eve at the Durham
Children of all ages will enjoy this fun-packed bash with live music from Dino O’Dell and the T-Rex All-Stars, special crafts and activities. Ring in the noon year in your handmade party hat while enjoying the celebratory bubble wrap stomp and a spectacular balloon drop at noon in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Great Hall. Let the natural world inspire you as you set intentions for the year ahead. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate hiking shoes or boots. For winter hiking, dressing in layers is best. Hats and gloves are important as it will feel colder with the wind.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular
Get ready for a whole new way to experience the grand finale of the Holiday Lights Festival! This year, we’re giving you the freedom to enjoy the spectacular firework show and the stunning downtown lighting displays from wherever you like! There is no set parking or designated viewing area, which means you can enjoy the show from virtually any spot in downtown, giving you the chance to discover new perspectives and hidden gems around the city. The fireworks will light up the sky near Heartland of America Park at The RiverFront, and you won’t want to miss a moment! Make it a festive experience by tuning into STAR 104.5 at 7pm, either in your car or on your phone. The fireworks are choreographed to a special musical score, created just for this event by J&M Displays. The soundtrack, broadcast live on STAR 104.5, will enhance every burst of color with the perfect holiday tunes.
