Jingle is an annual fundraiser that supports their mission. This event is an evening filled with holiday experiences, cocktails, delicious food bites and a wonderful silent auction of 36 unique wreaths decorated by our schools. This fundraiser creates an opportunity for our donors to make a direct impact on the students in our community through a silent auction, school wish list items, raffles and more.

Christmas at Union Station presented by FNBO festivities begin with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at The Durham Museum. All the good tidings and cheer lead up to the signature tradition of the night: the countdown to lighting Omaha's official Christmas tree, followed by a sing-a-long! Write a letter and send it off to the North Pole. If you drop off a letter by December 13, you’ll get a response mailed back before Christmas. You can ask Santa questions, share a story, draw a picture or just let him know what gifts are on your wishlist this year. Drop your letters in one of the special mailboxes at Santa’s Workshop or at the Library. (No postage needed.) Be sure to include your name and return address so Santa knows where to send his reply.
Each year Relevant puts on Elkhorn’s Annual Tree Lighting Party in order to bless the Elkhorn community. Come celebrate with us on Main St. in Olde Towne Elkhorn on Sunday, November 30 from 4:00-5:30pm. The festivities are free and feature live Christmas music, a visit from Santa, fire pits, free food, s’mores, and hot cocoa. Invite your family and friends! All are welcome! The tree will be lit at 5:15pm.

Please join the City of Gretna for our annual holiday event, Greenery and Glitter, located in downtown Gretna on McKenna Ave and at Peterson Park. This years theme is "Candy Cane Lane". From 12pm-4pm There will be a wide variety of activities located at different businesses on McKenna Ave, we encourage you to visit all the shops on the map to participate in their activity and have some holiday fun! Some activities do not start until 1pm, those times will be listed so you can better plan. From 4pm-6pm at Peterson Park we will have even more activities for everyone to enjoy! The Christmas Bird Count is a bird count that takes place every year around the holiday season! The Christmas Bird Count has been happening since 1900, and this year you can help! Join on a naturalist-guided bird count on the trails or boardwalk near the Nature Center. They will be hiking snow or shine, so make sure you come dressed for the weather! They’ll start with a brief history of the CBC, then hit the trails with a naturalist! Naturalists will lead hikes out to the Boardwalk or surrounding trails, but you can also opt to count birds inside by the bird feeders. They have binoculars available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis, but we encourage you to bring your own! Event is free with daily admission, but pre-registration is required.

Want an opportunity to get your family outdoors over your winter break? Would you like to contribute to science? Join their Christmas Bird Count for Kids event at Schramm Education Center! Learn more about the birds that call Schramm home during the winter while participating in the longest running community science project in the country. During the event, participants can choose to help count birds on a hike in the prairie or on a hike down to the Platte River. During the count, we will be recording the number and type of birds we see. After we count, we will join back up in the Schramm Classroom to tally our results and make bird crafts.
