Head to Hummel for a muddy 1 mile fun run through the trails and mud obstacle course. Check in at the pavilion at the north end of the park on Ponca Rd. The cost is $15/child, includes t-shirt.

La Vista’s third annual Fun Run returns in September! Run (or walk) the trails in Central Park during this 1-mile Fun Run. New this year: Register in advance (required for all participants ages 3 and older) and receive an official race bib and packet. The first 100 to register will also receive a free cooling towel. All registered finishers earn a medal, and prizes will be awarded in each age group.
Everyone’s favorite football skills competition is returning to La Vista this fall. Punt, Pass & Kick is a friendly competition that is welcoming to girls and boys of all skill levels. Participation is fun and simple. Each participant completes three skills. (A football punt, pass and kick). Cumulative scores determine the winner for each division. Winners in each category earn an invitation to the state competition at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Girls and boys will compete in separate age divisions from 6 to 15 years old. Show up and compete on a first-come, first-served basis. (Pick the time that fits your schedule.) Register upon arrival, complete the three skills and go on your way. Soccer Field #6

Welcome to the 19th Annual HawkWatch 5K Walk/Run! Grab your running or walking shoes and join us at Hitchcock Nature Center on Sunday, October 5th. Proceeds support Pottawattamie Conservation's efforts to preserve habitat in the county and offer low-impact recreational opportunities for the public to enjoy.
The MAHA (Multiple Sclerosis at Home Access) Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center will be hosting the 3rd Annual ‘MS Strong’ Community race event with proceeds being utilized to directly empower people living with MS and other demyelinating diseases with disability in our community. Race will include a fun run/walk/roll 5K and 10K run to ensure that regardless of ability people can participate. Event will include food trucks, DJ, and other family fun activities.
The race begins inside Stinson Park and then gets onto the flat & fast Keystone Trail system for an out-and-back loop. Half Marathon, 10K, 5K.

Hitchcock Nature Center is proud to host another amazing Hitchcock Experience Endurance Run, presented by the Greater Omaha Area Trail-Runnerz. Runners will descend upon the park on December 6th and 7th to participate in a half-marathon, 101K, 50-mile, or 100-mile endurance run through the picturesque Loess Hills.

Mark your calendars for the action-packed Guns & Hoses Hockey Challenge at Baxter Arena on March 15th, 2026. Watch local police officers and firefighters go head-to-head on ice, all for a great cause: supporting the First Responders Foundation! Kids will love to check out all the cool first responder vehicles parked out front, the exciting hock play, vendor booths and giveaways, chuck-a-puck intermission activity, and more fun planned at our Kids Zone. Whether you're ready to tackle the 5K or 10k, or prefer a light 1-mile walk - bring the whole family for this festive event, you'll be running with purpose—building a healthier, stronger Fremont for all. Don your best green gear and Irish-inspired costume for our special best-dressed contest, where the top leprechaun will win a gift card to a local business! After the race, join inside the YMCA Camp for refreshments, awards ceremonies, and plenty of community spirit as we celebrate our top finishers in each age category with medals and prizes.
Arrowhead Trail Run is a 5k marked course at Arrowhead Park. Choose the traditional 5k distance, 2 laps for a 10k, or complete as many laps as you can in a 4 hour Enduro! Medals will be awarded for the top 10 males and females in the 5k, 10k and 4 Hour Enduro event categories. ALL are welcome to run, jog, walk or hike at your own pace.
Cost: $20/child. Kids in 1st-6th grade will have fun running, biking, and swimming in this backwards event! Registration begins Monday, March 2nd

Join for the second annual Cookie Mile presented by Kookaburra Cookies, Fleet Feet, and Nike! The course features a fast, flat one-mile loop through the iconic Aksarben Village in Omaha, Nebraska. Starting from Stinson Park, runners circle the village before finishing on the corner of 67th Street and Mercy Road. All runners will be greeted at the finish line with a finisher medal, a finisher t-shirt, and a Kookaburra cookie.
