Children of all ages are welcome; storytimes will be tailored for the age of the children present. At this storytime, we will learn about fire safety with a local firefighter and even see a fire truck!

Join Bri Wright from Golem Forge and try a new crafting hobby. They’ll be making Dragon Eyes out of clay based on the How to Train Your Dragon books by Cressida Cowell. All craft materials will be provided while supplies last. All you need is your imagination! Fantasy awaits! This is a free event for children 6-12. Registration is required.

Bring your family to celebrate the changing seasons at our Fall Equinox Celebration! Join for a short, guided hike at Camp Brewster as we search for signs of seasonal changes in the Forest. After the hike, we will have a family-friendly craft to celebrate the equinox. To end our night, we will make a bonfire and have s'mores around the fire. Please remember to check the weather and dress accordingly. 

Dirty Red & The SoulShakers are a modern day powerhouse blues band, built on old -school influences, and a mutual love for the down and dirty style blues that has come to define the bands original sound. LALA (Local Artists. Local Art), a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting local creative voices, invites the public to a vibrant evening of art, music, and celebration at “LALA Arty Party: Gift Crow Celebration”, at 8th Street Plaza at Heartland of America Park, next to the Skate Ribbon. At the heart of the event is the debut of “Gift Crow”, a striking new sculpture by local artist Renee' A. Ledesma, followed by remarks from both Ledesma and Weston Thomsen, Co-Director at LALA.  The evening will include a performance by Mariachi Femenil Tecalitlan, an appearance by the River City Mixed Chorus, locally designed inflatable sculptures, and a lively celebration of LALA artists and their work.

Join for a geeky good time as we take over the Oak View Mall Sept 27-28 during normal mall hours. Vendors and artists will be spread throughout the entire mall - and Pop Up shops as well! A Halloween tradition without the frights, Cobweb Castle returns this fall! Clamber your way through the spooky maze, scale the castle wall, or don your sorcerer’s hat and makeup. The not-so-scary Halloween experience is here through November 2. Come and enjoy the fun of Halloween without the scares in our seasonal exhibit, Cobweb Castle!

Celebrate with friends and family as we come together to honor our loved ones with Down syndrome. It’s a day full of fun—with bounce houses, face painting, games, and more! Join Master Kim, a 6th degree Black Belt with over 20 years of teaching experience, for an exciting introduction to Taekwondo! Students will get a taste of this respected martial art while learning about discipline, building self-confidence, and embracing a healthy lifestyle. This is a free event for children ages 3-6. All participating children will need to have a release waiver signed by their guardian prior to the program. Registration is required

Work with others to solve clues and puzzles themed around the best-selling Wild Robot series by Peter Brown. Can you help Roz in time? This is a free event for children ages 6-9. For an entire weekend, the garden grounds are alive with merriment as guests celebrate the joys of autumn and experience the Japanese culture first-hand. Most activities are free with garden admission or membership.
