- Special Earth Day program at Bellevue University to learn about Solutions Plastic’s options for plastic reuse here in our metro area. The event which will feature displays by local environmental groups and vendors to highlight the many projects and efforts that are taking place in the local area. - Celebrate Earth Day at the Zoo during Party for the Planet. As part of their senior capstone project, this year’s event is presented by the Zoo’s own Zoo Academy high school students! Each event element from logo design to day of activities is led by these passionate, conservation-loving students.

- Kick-off spring with your little builder as they create a garden cart planter. Kids can grow new skills and take home a fun garden project just in time to start some seeds!

- Live music from local singer-songwriter Andre Vander Velde. Enjoy sandwiches and salads from Kitchen Table* and juices from The Grove Juicery. Plus, our friends Coneflower Creamery will be here with their farm-to-cone ice cream. Stop by and chat with each of our amazing community partners, The Nature Conservancy, Hillside Solutions, Heron Haven, Whispering Roots, and Keep Omaha Beautiful. And don’t forget to bring in your garden tools, mower blades, scissors, and even kitchen cutlery. While enjoy the festivities, Foster’s Sharpening Service will hone those blades and get them ready for another season.

- Visit The RiverFront for a celebration of Earth Day! Organizations from around the Omaha Community will be on hand to discuss their nature and sustainability practices. Step aboard the ORBT bus parked in Lewis & Clark Landing to learn more about their impact. Then at 2 PM, head over to Heartland of America Park for an afternoon movie in the park, featuring The Lorax, beginning at 3 PM.

- One of America’s oldest, continually running environmental events, Earth Day Omaha will celebrate its 35th consecutive year on Saturday, April 27th, 2024. This year’s event will build on a long history of success as the region’s premier environmental event, reaching a local consumer base most interested in the environment and sustainability. Hosted in the center of the city at Elmwood Park, the event is free to the public and provides entertainment for all ages. Earth Day Omaha is a longstanding spring tradition featuring over 100 green exhibitors, a multitude of family-friendly activities, hands-on demonstrations, educational displays, food & drink, and live music from top local bands.

Come search out a variety of wildlife, plants, and fungi for City Nature Challenge 2024 at Fontenelle Forest! We will have various information stations set up around the Nature Center’s Dennis plaza with knowledgeable volunteers ready to inform you about the plants and animals you may discover during your trip. There will also be a raptor specialist on hand to educate visitors about these awesome birds of prey. City Nature Challenge 2024 is organized by Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium
