2017 Kindergarten Traffic Training with the Omaha Police Department at Westroads Mall – August 2 – 4; (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.), FREE
- Open to all children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2017 or children who need a refresher on traffic safety. Children will learn about traffic safety, fire safety and seat belt safety. Each training session lasts approximately one hour.
- Location: Westroads Mall, Dick’s Sporting Good Court area by the Children’s play area.
Back to School Bash at the Omaha Zoo – August 5 – 6; (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.), Regular admission applies
- Get into the school spirit by hanging out with local mascots while enjoying kid-friendly music from the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s The Herd percussion group. Amazing Tech Race – Friday, August 4 (12 – 4 p.m.), FREE
- There are still a few team slots available – Register here! Join the AIM Brain Exchange and Cox Business in downtown Omaha for an exciting afternoon of tech-driven competition for ages 7 – 17. Any team with children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Teams of four will meet at noon on the starting line, located at the AIM Brain Exchange at 1902 Howard St. Omaha, NE. Participants will be given a map which contains 12 clues to find special locations across downtown Omaha.
Neighborhood Celebration – August 4 (4 – 6:30 p.m.), FREE
- Food, games, music, give-aways and fellowship. Location: Nebraska Children’s Home Society Children and Family Center, 3549 Fontenelle Boulevard.
