We have participated previously and loved the experience, especially learning where maple syrup comes from and tasting the sap.

Maple Tree Tapping Near Omaha
Maple Tree Tap at Botna Bend Park – Saturday, March 2, 2024 (11 a.m. – 3 p.m.), $3/person, [REGISTER early as space is limited]
- Pre-Registration Required (Fills up quickly!) Space in this program is limited. Online pre-registration is required & walk-in participants will not be admitted.
- Bring the family out for their annual Maple Tree Tap at Botna Bend Park in Hancock, Iowa. Participants will get an introduction to the basics of syrup making – from tapping the trees to bottling the final product. You’ll even get to explore the syrup shack at Botna Bend and learn how we make this sweet, sticky treat for their annual Pancake Feed every fall.
- Location: Botna Bend Park, 42926 Mahogany Rd., Hancock, IA. (approx. 50 minutes northeast of Omaha, NE.)
Marvelous Maples at the Tree Adventure in Arbor Day Farms – Saturdays, Feb. 17, 24 & March 2nd (1 – 2 p.m.), $24/person includes Tree Adventure admission [REGISTER – Tickets must be purchased in advance.]
- Tickets must be purchased in advance. A minimum of 8 people in the session is required. The program will repeat at 2:30 p.m. if the first session is full. Maximum for each session is 20 people.
- Learn about these marvelous trees and the art of maple tree tapping, then taste the sweet results.
- Dates are tentative, depending on Mother Nature and sap flow.
- Location: Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure, 2611 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE (approx. 1 hour south of Omaha)
