Bayliss Park Lighting Ceremony – Nov. 17 (6 – 8 p.m.)
- Join in at 6 p.m. and help count down to the park lighting. Then head over to Bayliss Park Hall to tell Santa what you want for Christmas, get your face painted, some balloons, hot chocolate and cookies. Santa will be around until 8 p.m.
Family Movie Night at Salvation Army Kroc Center – November 18 (5:30 – 8 p.m.), FREE
- Themed kid-friendly activities start at 5:30 p.m. followed by The Peanuts Holiday Classics: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas at 6 p.m.
A Christmas Carol at the Omaha Community Playhouse – Nov. 18 – Dec. 23
- Experience one of Omaha’s favorite holiday traditions.
Community Helper Event at The Wonder Nook – Nov. 19 (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.), FREE
- Families and individuals are invited to help tie fleece blankets to donate to YES (Youth Emergency Services) to help homeless kids. Supplies are provide, and people can also bring fleece if they would like to donate. Please RSVP on Facebook event page. This is a great family volunteer event!

International Games Day at Omaha Public Libraries – November 19 (Abrahams Branch Nov. 15), FREE
- Various games and activities will be provided throughout the libraries during the event. See times and locations here.

Gingerbread House Display at the Mormon Trail Center and Kanesville Tabernacle – Nov. 19 – Dec. 31 (10 a.m. – 8 p.m.)
- One of our favorite Christmas traditions is seeing the intricately designed Gingerbread Houses. They also have a fun Scavenger Hunt at each location with a picture option for the younger children.
- The center closes at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
- Location: 3215 State Street, Omaha, and 222 East Broadway, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Moana at Nobbies Thanksgiving Canned Film Festival – Nov. 19 (12 – 2 p.m.)
- Meet Moana herself, eat pizza (while supplies last), and play spin-to-win for Moana movie passes or Disney prizes. Bring in 2 canned food items for Food Bank for the Heartland and receive a $5 Nobbies coupon!
Where Books and Art Meet with Arts for All (Registration Required) – Nov. 19 (2:30 – 3:30 p.m.), FREE
- Explore your creative side every week with art projects based on books and illustrations. Classes are taught by professional artists and art teachers in partnership with Arts For All. For children ages 8-12. Location: South Omaha Library.
Saddlebrook’s Giving Hands – Nov. 20 (1 – 3 p.m.)
- Come for a day of inflatables and family fun as they collect non-perishable food items for the community. You will also be making cards for the Open Door Mission.
- Admission to this event is two non-perishable food items. All proceeds will benefit the Open Door Mission.
Family Skate at Motto McLean Ice Arena – Sundays, Nov. 6, 13, 20 & 27; (4 – 6 p.m.)
- $10 for family of 4, $3 for additional person. Price includes: admission, skate rentals, and drink.
