ConAgra Foods Ice Skating Rink is Open – 12/12 – 1/4/15
- $5 admission includes skate rental (admission is still required for patrons who bring their own skates) and benefits Food Bank for the Heartland. Kids under 5 skate free.

First Friday Family Date Night at the Omaha Children’s Museum – 1/2, 5 – 8 p.m.
- Stay late and play until eight on the first Friday of each month during winter hours. Special activities, giveaways and tons of fun for the entire family!
- Friday, January 2 – Cartoon Night: Learn how to draw your own cartoon, become a cartoon on TV and get a special visit from Dora.
- Included with regular museum admission.
Sesame Street Live “Let’s Dance!” – 1/2 – 1/4
- Hosted by two live performers, Sesame Street Live “Let’s Dance!” offers an up-close, interactive experience like you’ve never experienced before! You, the audience, are invited to dance as all of your favorite Sesame Street friends join you on the floor – dancing with fans of all ages! In addition to ongoing dance parties, Elmo uses his imagination to “Do the Robot,” Cookie Monster teaches all ‘feets’ to dance, and Ernie shares the fun of dance with the Sesame Street favorite “Shake Your Head One Time.”
Home Depot Free Kids Workshop – 1/3, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., FREE
- Hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 – 12. On Saturday, Jan 3, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., kids can build a mini sled!
Yule Log Quest at Platte River State Park – 1/3, 3 p.m.
- A fun event for family and friends. The Yule Log Quest starts at 3:00 p m. (Registration required.) Teams will compete in a scavenger hunt challenge to find the Yule Log based on a series of clues to follow. The day will consist of fun family events with kindling hunt for kids, crafts and story time. A Park Entry Permit is required.
