Fire Prevention Week Open Houses in Omaha


In case of a fire, does your family “Have Two Ways Out?”  This year’s theme focuses on the importance of fire escape planning and practice.  Many fire stations are offering open houses this week to learn more about fire prevention, tour the fire stations, and thank firefighters for the help they offer the community!

Omaha Fire Department Open House – 10/9, 6-7:30pm

  • Omaha Firefighters will hold an Open House at all locations.  Visit on Tuesday, 10/9, from 6-7:30pm for tours and free blood pressure tests.

Springfield Fire Department Open House – 10/13, 4-8pm

  •  Family Fun Night and BBQ at Springfield Fire Station, 505 S. 1st Street, Springfield, NE.  Free Admission, donations appreciated.

LaVista Fire Annual Open House – 10/14, 1-4pm

  •  This family friendly event is FREE and open to the public, and will be held at District 1 Station, 8110 Park View Blvd in LaVista.  The open house will feature many pieces of fire and rescue equipment on display, a visit from the LifeNet Helicopter, Child ID kits, blood pressure screenings, fire and injury prevention information, disaster preparedness and much more.  Children will have the opportunity to make their own fire truck and they’ll take home their own coloring book.

Papillion Fire Department Open House – 10/14, 8am-1pm

  • Open House will be October 14, 2012 from 8-1 at 146 North Adams Street, Papillion, NE 68046.
